We all love a bit of art, right?
I know that I have long dreamed of greeting my guests with an annoyingly obtuse piece in order that they might realise what they have in store as soon as possible. Unfortunately I was not, and, until now, never would I be, wealthy enough to buy art of the highest calibre.
Well lucky me, because here I am announcing the Souper Saturday First Birthday Jamboree which will involve, apart from all the other wonderful stuff whose announcement will be kept for later, a sale of small art pieces at very reasonable prices such that we can all afford to buy a work that might be the next Hockney or, if we are unlucky, the next Hirst! What could be better?
Keep your eyes peeled because our birthday is in September, but the Jamboree may well be in October because we are dealing with artist types and I’d hate to predict their behaviour between now and then; needless to say, many of them will be beavering away and producing a piece of art which we will be selling at a price that would shock Charles Saattchi. Which is exactly why we’re doing it.
